Why Workplace Employee Financial Wellness & Education?
We help you engage your employees with real-world financial knowledge to give them the confidence they need to make their financial planning goals attainable.
Our "Financial Education in the Workplace" lunch n learns or webinars are complimentary and no-cost to your company. Attendance is optional for employees. We don't sell products and if done in-person we provide a hot lunch. Your employees aren't obligated to work with us, but if they choose to follow-up they can do so outside of work hours. There is no risk to your company and your employees. We also provide a complimentary financial plan for those in attendance and wish to engage with us after outside of working hours.
When would the lunch n learn take place?
We've found that during the lunch hour and sometimes after hours, is the best time to engage employees. We find that it doesn't take away from productive hours and is voluntary and complimentary. Plus if done in-person we provide free hot lunch.
What is the cost to our company and how many people can attend?
This is a complimentary lunch n learn. There is no cost to your company or employees. We've found that having at least 5 employees attending and at most 25, is a good number. We also have done multiple sessions if there is a high demand and attendance.
What is the presentation format?
We've typically done in-person where we come on-site, provide lunch and complete the presentation. In addition to in-person we also do virtual webinars. Your HR/company coordinator would provide a list of interested employees and we'd email them a webinar invite with approved & agreed date & time.
We already have a Group Benefits advisor who comes in?
It's great that many companies value having their group benefits rep come in and discuss different topics. Our focus is not restricted to retirement but other questions employees would seek out if they were to do it independently. We just do it in bite-size format
What are some financial topics you cover?
We understand that companies have employees representing various demographics and needs. Since we have done many lunch n learns, we present in such a way that is jargon-free and touches on specific but common financial needs. We have seen what questions employees have and keeps them up at night.
How long are presentations?
Our focus is on education and not selling products. We typically don't need more than the lunch hour. We present for about 30-45 minutes and take follow up questions afterwards. We also leave your employees (in-person) with take away material or we email it to them if we hold the presentation in webinar format.
We already have a Group Retirement Advisor?
More than simply a discussion on retirement planning, our lunch n learn in-person or webinar presentations are informative and jargon-free educational sessions, created to instill a lifetime of financial preparedness.
Why can't our employees just seek out information after-hours?
Most employees have good intentions but time and life get in the way of seeking out proper planning & education. Just like workplace healthcare benefits, it's easier to engage while at work during lunchtime.
What's in it for our company as an employer?

Financial Education in the Workplace - Steps to get Started.
These short presentations are conducted in a professional manner with absolutely no selling involved. They are designed to provide valuable information and strategies to answer the most common financial planning questions around investing, retirement, insurance etc. When you decide that this could be a useful tool for your employees, here are the next steps:
Step 1 - set date
Step 2 - Format
Step 3 - send memo
Step 4 - present
Schedule a Lunch n Learn/Webinar Date
Pencil in a date to hold the event. Your company decides on what would be a good day to hold the in-person lunch n learn or webinar. We have found that the best time to hold the seminar is during the lunch hour or directly after work. This way, the seminar does not take up productive company time and is voluntary for employees.
You Choose the Format - In-Person or Virtual Webinar
The most important consideration is that this financial education session doesn't interfere with your company productivity. We also want to ensure that it's easy for employees to attend. You can determine what would be the best format to meet both of these considerations. We offer in-person presentations where we provide a hot lunch and refreshments. Alternatively, given hybrid work arrangements, we offer webinars where attendees can participate virtually.
Send a Memo Notice
This should be sent to all employees announcing the lunch n learn or webinar, the topics to be covered and the date. This is important so your company receives the credit for presenting the useful seminar and benefit to the employees. It also creates goodwill by showing your concern for their financial wellness.
Hold the Lunch n Learn or Webinar
Blue Alpha Wealth would then make the presentation. The seminar is designed to cover certain cornerstones of planning in a conceptual and memorable way. What we have found is that some employees may not be able to attend a particular date so there is the option to return and present again. This also arises if there is a high interest (typically more than 20 people seeking to attend the seminar).
